The Angraecum Alliance is a group of monopodial orchids from the tribe Vandeae (vandaceous and its relatives) but of the subtribe Angraecinae. The various genera of this subtribe are found mostly in Africa and Madagascar, India, and the Indian Ocean Islands, though a couple of the genera are also found in the Americas and Caribbean islands. Many genera do hybridize with the Aeridinae subtribe (Vanda group) to produce some very unique hybrids. Many of the Angraecinae can be potted or mounted and don't tend to mind their roots in a medium, unlike most Vanda alliance, as long as they are not in to heavy of a mix or medium. The growing habits of this group are very varied and it is always best to go by the individual genus, if not by the species or hybrid itself as to the growing conditions. We do carry plants from this group from time to time and as we either make our own plants or find better, more consistent sources, we will carry more and more often.
