Sobralia Alliance

Our Story

The Sobralia Alliance consists of the following genera, some are considered pseudonyms, but we are considering them as separate genera: Brasolia, Ellianthus, Epilyna, Sertifera, Sobralia, and their hybrids.

This alliance is native to Mexico, Central America and central to northern South America. They can range from sea level to over 100 meters above sea level, so they can be hot to cold growers depending on the genus and species. The worlds tallest orchid, Brasolia (Sobralia) altissima, belongs to this group growing over 45 feet tall.
